Never put the keys to your happiness in someone else's pocket
Never put the keys to your happiness in someone else's pocket. Too often we give control of our happiness to others and it is completely unacceptable. You have the power to choose your own happiness, don't give that power to someone else. Nobody is trustworthy enough to have that much power over you. Someone with the keys to your happiness is in control of when you feel good about yourself, have a positive attitude, or simply have an appreciation for life.
Some of the ways you can tell if you've given the keys to your happiness to someone else's pocket:
Do you let someone else's comments upset you?
Do you let someone else's "bad attitude" put you in a bad mood?
Does it bother you when you learn that someone has a negative opinion about you?
No longer will you let someone else's comments affect your mood. No longer will you let anyone else's bad attitude change your mood. No longer will you let someone else's opinions of you, change how you see yourselves. Being happy is a choice. It is not up to anyone else to make you happy or make you choose to be happy -- Not your significant other or anyone. It is your choice to be happy!
Being grateful and appreciative of the things you aren't promised to have is a good way to choose to be happy. Being reminded of all the things that you have overcome and survived is a way to choose to be happy. The bigger picture of your happiness should derive from the overall devices of your well being. Keep the keys to your happiness in your possession -- practice self-care and self-love, get ample rest, be productive, be creative, be positive, be kind, be generous, be loving, be forgiving and always remember to be thankful. These are the keys to your happiness because your happiness starts within you!
